Amanda Lister’s first release, Call Home, debuted on the Roots Music Report at #32 in November 2007, climbing to #1 in February 2008. Encouraged by the grassroots response to this release, RowPro Records from Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee is currently producing her second album, “Closer.”
“When I choose a song, I select it for the lyrics. First I want to relate to it and know others can too. For me, a well written song makes people think. I’ve always admired the music, the fun and the spunk of Dolly Parton and the vocal skills of Emma Lou Harris. Yet I don’t want to imitate either one. I want to clearly have my own sound.
“Country music resonates with me. I just love the lyrics. For this second album, we took the bluegrass song, “High Dive” which has great lyrics and changed the music to country rock. If the lyrics are good, the music can be changed,” Amanda explained.
Amanda currently performs for private functions, and as a guest singer on stages in the Nashville area. Her regular Friday and Saturday night gig is performing with her husband Phil, his brother Mark, and the house band at The Barn, Rt. 100 in Centerville, TN.
